About SOLISTIQ

Company descriptions for use in articles, event programs and on partner pages.

Short version

about 90 words

With Q‑Foundry, SOLISTIQ has built the first foundation model for inventory management – in Europe, as a spin-off of the University of Würzburg. Instead of building one model per item, a single pre-trained model forecasts demand for every product without retraining – including new and data-sparse items. An AI agent explains every recommendation in plain language and takes on the planners' domain knowledge. In backtests on customer data, SOLISTIQ achieves 15–25% less inventory at equal or better product availability – and is productive in days, not months.

Standard version

about 170 words

SOLISTIQ, a spin-off of the University of Würzburg, has built the world's first foundation model for inventory management: Q‑Foundry. Instead of building one model per item, a single pre-trained model forecasts demand for every product without retraining – including new and data-sparse items. The technology has been published at leading AI conferences (incl. NeurIPS, ICLR) and has won several awards (incl. CNA Innovationspreis, BARC AI Award, Würzburger Gründerpreis). It shows on customer data, too: in historical backtests, SOLISTIQ achieves 15–25% less inventory at equal or better product availability – and is productive in days, not months.

For better forecasts to turn into better day-to-day decisions, planner and algorithm have to work together. An AI agent translates in both directions: it explains every forecast and recommendation in plain language, answers follow-up questions, and feeds the planning team's domain knowledge back into forecast and planning logic. That turns a black box into a digital colleague – and a European foundation model into measurable value in the warehouse, already today.
