We are SOLISTIQ, a spin-off from the University of Würzburg. We develop AI that forecasts demand and supports people in inventory planning.

We bring together experience from research, consulting and software engineering.

Magnus Maichle

CEO & Co-Founder

Developed the foundation model that Q‑Foundry is based on today as part of his research at the University of Würzburg. Previously three years as a strategy consultant at Boston Consulting Group.
Nico Elbert

COO & Co-Founder

Holds a doctorate from the University of Würzburg in data-driven decision support using process mining, machine learning and optimisation. Previously several years as an SAP and ERP consultant at T‑Systems.
Kai Günder

CAIO & Co-Founder

Researched time-series transformers as a mathematician at the University of Würzburg and is a co-author of the method behind Q‑Foundry. Previously in AI forecasting consulting at Prognostica.
Thomas Wangler

CTO & Co-Founder

Responsible for the development and operation of the SOLISTIQ platform. Previously five years building cloud-native web applications, at Mayflower and as a freelance software developer, partly leading teams.

Our story

Since 2015

Research in Würzburg.

At the University of Würzburg, the Data Driven Decisions group researches machine learning and AI in business planning and logistics.
March 2024

The first model.

The first version of the Foundry model takes shape in the Data Driven Decisions research group. The research behind it appears at ECIS and in workshops at NeurIPS and ICLR, among others.
November 2025

CNA Innovation Award.

The research team wins the CNA Innovation Award 2025 in the science category.
March 2026

EXIST Transfer of Research.

The German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy funds SOLISTIQ for two years through EXIST Transfer of Research.
June 2026

Two awards.

SOLISTIQ wins the BARC AI Award in the Data & AI category and the Würzburg Startup Prize in the “Global Hero” category.
July 2026

3rd place in the Northern Bavaria business plan competition.

SOLISTIQ takes third place in BayStartUP’s Bavarian Business Plan Competition Northern Bavaria.
July 2026

SOLISTIQ becomes a GmbH.

Shared research becomes a company: SOLISTIQ GmbH is founded.
